New York’s The Clamor have kept busy since releasing their debut album Love & Criminals early last year. The Aaron Lewis-fronted project have followed that up with a further two singles this year and show no signs of slowing down, with more coming down the tracks in 2024.
Before we get to that, though, there’s the matter of their new track ‘Staircase Stomp’, which cloaks its dark lyrical content in an effervescent arrangement led by violin and cello. Lewis says the song ‘delves into the allure of self-destructive behaviour, and a call to reconsider those darker tendencies’.
With eight credited musicians on the song, it’s exactly as busy as you’d think, just barely keeping itself in check amid a palpable sense of tension that finds no release. We’re premiering the song below; keep your eyes peeled for more to come from The Clamor later this year.
