The evolution of Mancunian band, W.H. Lung continues with the release of latest single, The Painting Of The Bay, which closely follows the release of How To Walk. Both songs pave the way for the release of their third album, entitled Every Inch Of Earth Pulsates, in October this year.
Originally a studio-only project formed between three school friends, W.H. Lung have progressed to becoming a full five-piece live band, and have readied themselves for their third long player with the release of these two somewhat contrasting songs.
How To Walk is a gloriously rollicking ride which will serve the band well on the live scene and at festivals, with its’ anthemic sing-along melody and driving, motorik beat.
Opening with a drum intro reminiscent of Blur, The Painting Of The Bay, on the other hand, quickly morphs into an out-an-out nod to the early synth-pop bands of the 80’s and is a highly-danceable track in the vein of Power, Corruption Lies/Low Life-era New Order, mixing guitar and a generous dose of nostalgic synth sound to create a bright, and energetic song which once again, should also go down well with their audiences.
The band have been keen to capture the energy, spirit and dynamism of their live shows, something that has become paramount to the group in recent years, as they have undeniably blossomed into one of the more joyous and arresting live bands in the UK.
