THREE classic albums by rockabilly royalty Brian Setzer albums are set for a vinyl issue on July 24th. Surfdog Records will be releasing the two compilations, The Brian Setzer Orchestra’s The Ultimate Collection Vol. 1 and Vol. 2 on vinyl for the first time; additionally, his solo set, Brian Setzer ’68 Comeback Special: Ignition will be reissued exclusively on yellow vinyl. The Ultimate Collection, originally released in 2004, will feature redesigned artwork; each volume will be sold separately. Vol. 1 will be pressed on green vinyl, and vol. 2 on orange. This live collection spans Setzer’s entire 25-year career, and includes the hits “Rock This Town” and “Stray Cat Strut”, “Rumble In Brighton”, “I Won’t Stand In Your Way” and “Sleepwalk”. Brian Setzer ’68 Comeback Special: Ignition was originally released in 2001. It marked a return to a purist rockabilly trio, and was named in homage to Elvis’s 1968 return in a television special. Part of Brian’s mission to keep rockabilly moving forward as a form, it notably features a guest appearance from Joe Strummer on “Who Would Love This Car But Me”. The coloured vinyl pressings of The Ultimate Collection Vol. 1, The Ultimate Collection Vol. 2 and Brian Setzer ’68 Comeback Special can be pre-ordered at https://surfdog.com/ |
