A SHOCK announcement has come at the top end of the indie music world, with a statement being issued to the effect that vocalist Tom Meighan has left Kasabian “by mutual consent”.
The statement continues: “Tom has struggled with personal issues that have affected his behaviour for quite some time and now wants to concentrate all his energies on getting his life back on track.
“We will not be commenting further.”
Kasabian, who formed in Leicester in 1997, brought stadium-dominating indie swagger with albums such as their 2004 self-titled debut, and 2007’s West Ryder Pauper Lunatic Asylum.
It is not clear at this stage what direction Kasabian intend to take with the loss of their front man.
