After their East Coast run earlier this year, Cog will be continuing their The Vinyl Tour, and will visit regional Victoria, New South Wales, and Western Australia this October and November. They will also be making a special appearance for Crowbar Sydney’s birthday week.
Emerging in the late ’90s, Cog’s impact on heavy music is undeniable. Their early EPs, 2000’s ‘Pseudo’ and 2002’s ‘Just Visiting’ series, set the stage, but it was their 2005 debut album, ‘The New Normal’, that cemented their reputation. Relentless touring, including Big Day Out and Falls Festival, and the 2008 gold-certified album Sharing Space followed.
After a five-year hiatus, Cog returned in 2016 with a sold-out comeback tour and new music in 2018 with ‘The Middle.’ They continued to release singles like ‘Altered States’ and ‘Drawn Together’ and headlined festivals like The Other Festival and Thrashville in 2023.
Last year Cog gained ownership of their music, and released their albums on vinyl after a 15-year wait. To celebrate, they embarked on the East Coast leg of The Vinyl Tour in March 2024, which sold out in major cities.
