News: The Cult Announce Australian Tour

The Cult

The Cult, one of the most iconic bands in rock history, has announced their “8424” Australian Tour in honour of their 40th anniversary. This tour promises to be a sonic journey through time, as the band delves into their extensive 11-album discography. Fans can expect a setlist that celebrates four decades of genre-defining music, showcasing the evolution and enduring power of their groundbreaking sound.

Formed in 1983, The Cult emerged from the post-punk shadows to blaze a trail through the rock landscape, powered by the magnetic presence of frontman Ian Astbury and the incendiary guitar work of Billy Duffy. The band quickly carved out a niche with their blend of gothic rock and hard-hitting anthems. Their debut album, ‘Dreamtime, set the stage, but it was 1985’s ‘Love’ that catapulted them into the stratosphere with hits like ‘She Sells Sanctuary.’ Over the years, The Cult’s sound evolved, dabbling in everything from psychedelic rock to heavy metal, influencing countless bands with their unapologetic authenticity and genre-defying experimentation.

Founding singer Ian Astbury and guitarist Billy Duffy, will tour alongside powerhouse drummer John Tempesta and versatile bassist Charlie Jones (Goldfrapp, Page and Plant,) see below for dates and ticketing information.
