Texas rocker Kenton Mackay releases his hotly anticipated new EP ‘In Good Taste’.
Standing out from the crowd with his distinctive fuzzy, high octane rock style and biting, satirical wit, Kenton Mackay has quickly made a name for himself with a whole host of tastemaker coverage. 6 tracks which move between The Strokes-esque indie, 70s rock, intense punk and elements of blues, the new EP is a vibrant journey through infectious melodies, biting, at times fuzzy guitar tones and an explosive sense of energy.
Strikingly authentic, vibrantly intense and infectiously likeable, the EP packs a punch and showcases what a talented new artist Mackay is. Influenced by iconic bands such as Nirvana, Radiohead, and Beck, his musical palette is diverse and rich from Queens of the Stone Age-esque rock to tracks which verge on The Black Keys.
Form the multi-structured ‘Ode To Rosie Part 1, 2 and 3’, to the Psychedelic, wailing guitars of My Brain Is Fucked to the intense blues rock energy of ‘Golden Boy’, each track showcases a varying aspect of Mackay’s cohesive yet varied sound. Lyrically delving into themes of self-destruction, isolation, and the complexities of modern society, ‘In Good Taste’ offers an exciting first taste of Kenton Mackay’s writing style.
