California’s ethereal indie-pop pair slenderbodies are gearing up to make waves Down Under, announcing their debut Australian tour for January and February 2025. Known for their lush, textured soundscapes, the duo will be showcasing tracks from their latest album, the sugar machine, a sonic feast blending energy, nostalgia, and euphoria.
slenderbodies is Max Vehuni and Benji Cormack, the duo have spent the last two years plumbing the depths of lost youth, exploring the bittersweet chase for fleeting moments of innocence and joy. Their journey reaches a new pinnacle with the release of the sugar machine, an album that expands their breezy, silky roots into fresh, uncharted sonic territory.
The story of slenderbodies began in a dorm room where Vehuni and Cormakc met as college freshmen. Their synergy was instant, leading to the release of their debut EP, sotto voce, in 2016, and the follow-up fabulist in 2017 under the revered indie imprint Majestic Casual Records. But it was fabulist’s shimmering lead single, ‘anemone,’ that cemented their place in the indie landscape. With over 90 million streams and counting, the track catapulted slenderbodies from bedroom creators to indie-pop mainstays.
slenderbodies hit Stay Gold in Melbourne on Friday, January 31, The Underground in Sydney on Saturday, February 1, and The Brightside in Brisbane on Sunday, February 2.
