New York-based singer-songwriter Shane Rennison releases his eagerly awaited debut album, Irrational.
Over the years, Shane has built a dedicated following with his unique blend of indie pop rock, characterized by a mix of acoustic and electric guitars, distinctive drum patterns, and synth piano. His sound has drawn comparisons to renowned artists like Vampire Weekend, Passion Pit, and Harry Styles, marking him as a standout in the music scene.
Irrational offers a rich sonic tapestry, reflecting Shane’s diverse musical influences. The album seamlessly blends freshness and nostalgia, immersing listeners in intricate songwriting, lush harmonies, and unexpected instrumental flourishes. Acoustic twinklings merge with glittery synths and punchy drums, occasionally enhanced by a joyful brass infusion. At the heart of the album lies Shane’s emotional writing, drawing listeners closer with his honesty. The production, led by Julian Giaimo, ensures each track captivates, transforming the soundscapes fluidly from one song to the next.
Discussing the project, Shane explains, “I’m so grateful I finally get to share this album. We’ve been working on it for about two years now, and it’s just so nice to put it out and move on creatively. I felt as though artists were getting away from full-length projects that flow from one song to another. It’s kind of a dated concept because, in the streaming era, you can start an album on any track you wish. So for this project, I wanted to create seamless transitions from one track to the next to create a really cohesive project that satisfied us as a whole.”
Hailing from the scenic Catskills of Upstate New York, Shane has honed his craft as a singer-songwriter and recording artist, infusing his music with heartfelt authenticity. From his early days performing diverse covers to crafting original songs, Shane’s journey has been marked by a relentless pursuit of musical excellence. His debut album, Irrational, is a testament to his growth as an artist and promises to leave a lasting impact on listeners.
