San Diego-based music producer, composer and DJ Graffick has released his hotly anticipated fourth album, ‘Spectra‘.
Showcasing Graffick’s boldest collection of tracks to date, the album offers sleek, powerful production and mesmerising sound design, comparable to the likes of Jamie XX and Caribou. Written over the past three years, the album was recorded in his home studio, resulting in a deeply personal and artistically rich project.
‘Spectra‘ takes listeners on an ethereal journey, weaving vivid soundscapes from start to finish. Graffick masterfully drives the odyssey with rich drum production and expansive electronic climaxes. The album’s synth-forward aesthetic emphasizes both atmosphere and melody, creating uptempo music with a unique and inventive style.
Graffick explains, ”The concept behind Spectra is that our life experiences exist on a spectrum and that our perception of these events defines how we each see the world.”
The album opens with the lush airiness of ‘Saw You There Again’, setting a dynamic tone that persists throughout. Tracks like ‘Black Light’ offer late-night, thumping intrigue, while ‘Messages / In the Wake’ features evolving structures with simmering synths that build into blaring melodies. Another standout, ‘Sushi Rice’, delivers a fervent electro-pop push, hypnotizing listeners with its futuristic synth-friendly glow.
Over the past eight years, Graffick has released three albums, four EPs, and numerous singles, continually evolving his sound into the atmospheric immersion that defines Spectra. With this new album, Graffick showcases how much his music has developed, setting a president more new music in the future.
