Samuel Evanson releases the vibrant debut album, We Are Meant To Break The Rules, marking a significant milestone for the emerging indie-pop songwriter. The Wales-born, Liverpool-based artist has been steadily gaining industry support, earning a spot on Spotify’s Fresh Finds among other highlights.
Evanson’s debut album takes listeners on an introspective journey across seven tracks, blending high-octane energizers with endlessly honest lyricism. The album’s crisp drum rhythms and raw but bright guitar tones create an infectious atmosphere that balances optimism with pensive reflection. Speaking about the album Evanson explains: “For some of the album, I talk about the worst times of my life and for some, I talk about the best. Even looking back at the worst times, it made me who I am, and I wouldn’t change a thing”.
Evanson’s current success in the music scene follows a remarkable journey. His first taste of virality came in 2016 with a Facebook-posted cover that garnered significant attention. By the following year, he was performing live on BBC One, raising money for BBC Children In Need, and winning several local awards. Although the pandemic temporarily shifted his focus to television, Evanson’s return to music has reignited his creative spark.
We Are Meant To Break The Rules is a testament to Samuel Evanson’s growth as an artist and his ability to craft music that resonates deeply with listeners.
