Toronto’s most feral punk export PUP are back, and they’ve brought the existential dread with them. The four-piece—Stefan Babcock, Nestor Chumak, Zack Mykula, and Steve Sladkowski—have announced their fifth album Who Will Look After The Dogs?, out on the 2nd May. Produced by the sonic wizard John Congleton (St. Vincent, Angel Olsen) over an intense three-week LA session, Dogs is PUP at their most raw, unhinged, and emotionally dialled-in. It’s a record that strips away the polish and cranks up the voltage, bottling the anarchy of their early days with the precision of a band that’s spent over a decade bleeding on stages worldwide.
And in true PUP fashion, the chaos doesn’t stop at the speakers. They’ve just confirmed they’ll be heading back to Australia and NZ this August for a headline tour—so if you like your punk sweaty, shouty, and a bit emotionally unwell, get in line now.
