Norwich vibrant Indie-Funk-Rock ensemble, Pretty Terry, share the irresistibly danceable and infectiously catchy single ‘Shock Therapy’, taken from their newly released EP ‘Golden Age Of TV’.
Having solidified their reputation through captivating live performances, including sold-out shows alongside acts like Bag Of Cans, Automotion, and Cucuramas, the six-piece sensation has already caught the ear of BBC Introducing.
Across the upcoming EP, Pretty Terry expertly combines their dynamic, funk-infused rhythms with poignant, personal songwriting and melodic arrangements. Their music strikes a balance between energetic sonic charisma and a heartfelt exploration of emotions.
The lead single, ‘Shock Therapy’, epitomizes this fusion. Featuring a yearning, urgent lead vocal accompanied by jangly, fuzzy guitar tones, grooving piano melodies, driving rhythms, and soulful backing vocals, the track mirrors the electrifying energy the band brings to their live performances. A confluence of melodic richness and emotional depth, the song showcases the band’s ability to craft captivating funk-tinged indie-rock soundscapes with a thoughtful edge.
Commenting on the single, the band members collectively explain: “Shock Therapy is about the disconnect between what we do and what is good for us. It’s about the distrust we can feel for traditional methods of dealing with love, loss, and anger.”
With a rapidly expanding fanbase and a wealth of fresh material, the six-piece outfit is primed for a compelling finish to 2023.
