News: One night only: BAND OF HORSES returns to Sydney’s Enmore Theatre in 2025

Band of Horses

Band of Horses return to Sydney for one night only—a fleeting moment in the grand architecture of indie rock nostalgia. On Wednesday, 15 January 2025, they’ll take the stage at the Enmore Theatre, their only headline performance in Australia this year. It’s a rare, necessary pilgrimage for fans, a chance to reconnect with the band’s anthemic spirit, woven through years of evocative lyrics and transcendent melodies.

This one-off Sydney show runs parallel to their national A Day on the Green tour with The Teskey Brothers, making it all the more sacred for the faithful. It’s the band’s first trip back to Australia since 2016—a country that has welcomed them with open arms since their debut tour in 2006, building a community of listeners who helped land three albums in the ARIA Top 30. Audiences can expect a mix of new material alongside old favorites like The Funeral, Laredo, and No One’s Gonna Love You—songs that transformed a band into indie rock folklore, cementing their legacy in the process.

Formed in Seattle in 2004 and now based in South Carolina, Band of Horses quickly rose to prominence as one of the defining bands of their era, channelling the generational anxiety in those early millennial years and turning it into powerful and inclusive art. Fronted by founding member Ben Bridwell, the band’s 2010 album Infinite Arms earned a Grammy nomination, solidifying their place in the music landscape. The lineup includes longtime members Ryan Monroe and Creighton Barrett, and newer additions Matt Gentling and Brett Nash. Band of Horses have released six studio albums, including the critically acclaimed Things Are Great (2022) which saw Ben Bridwell more autobiographical than he’s ever been on record. This year they released the live collection Acoustic at The Ryman Vol. 2 (2024), a follow-up to their beloved 2014 acoustic album.

Tickets for this special one-off Sydney show go on sale Wednesday 30 October at 12.00pm AEDT
