NEWS: One man’s trash is Fulu Miziki’s treasure as they share pulsating new cut ‘OK Seke Bien’ and announce new EP

Fulu Miziki

Currently mid-way through a European tour – no UK dates quite yet, though that could change, with festival appearances booked for the autumn – the Congolese sextet Fulu Miziki‘s first offering from their debut EP offers up an invigorating fusion of psychedelia, R&B and dance music, taking a look at those genres through the lens of their homeland. What’s more, they design and build their own constantly changing, upcycled instruments.

They’re established in Uganda at the moment, and look set to cause a stir far beyond Kampala or Kinshasa; ‘OK Seke Bien’ features vocals from Sekelembele, swept along by pounding percussion and driving bass. It makes for an ideal introduction to both their musical and literal craft as its four-minute duration passes in a blur. It’s the opening track from the six-song set Ngbaka, a fascinating EP that should add plenty of colour to your winter listening when it arrives on Friday November 12th via Moshi Moshi.
