From the newly created DIY project Solidarity Tapes comes their first release with Vol 1: End The Hostile Environment featuring an eclectic, heavyweight cast of some of the most exciting acts in the UK today including Goat Girl, PVA, Glows, Big Joanie, the head-honcho of Speedy Wunderground and the most in-demand producer at the moment, Dan Carey and many more.
Vol 1: End The Hostile Environment, which aims to raise funds for grassroots organisations working for migrant, racial, social and climate justice is available now physically via cassette.
Accompanying the release is a featured illustrated zine by artists Toby (@tobyevansjesra) and Aidan Evans-Jesra (@the_snailmxn) who have also designed the mind-blowing artwork for Goat Girl’s ‘On All Fours’ LP and provides information on the musicians and the grassroots organisations that the project is raising funds for, as well as art along with and essays on the themes of migration, borders, activism and solidarity.
On the compilation itself, Solidarity Tapes have stated:
“We have curated an eclectic mix of musicians that is not limited to a specific genre, we hope there is something here for everyone with jazz, post-punk, experimental hip-hop, dream pop, post-hardcore, math-rock, ethereal electronics, art-rock and South American folk!
