News: Motorhead’s Lemmy Dies Age 70


Ian Fraser Kilmister,  commonly known as “Lemmy” has died aged 70.

The news was confirmed by Eddie Trunk, an American radio personality. Lemmy had recently celebrated his 70th birthday on Christmas Eve.

Ozzy Osbourne tweeted “Lost one of my best friends, Lemmy, today. He will be sadly missed. He was a warrior and a legend. I will see you on the other side.”

Younger stars of rock/metal who have been clearly influenced by Lemmy and Motorhead’s legacy also tweeted their respects to the rock legend

“A piece of rock and roll died today. Motörhead will forever be one of the loudest best most rocking bands of all time. Rest in power lemmy” – Caleb Shomo – Beartooth

“RIP to the one and only Lemmy. It goes without saying but there will never be another like him. A true rock and roll legend.” – Andy Biersack – Black Veil Brides

British Summer Time 2014 - July 4th

Motorhead’s former drummer Phil “Philthy Animal” Taylor also died earlier this year.
