Get ready to lose your minds and maybe a shoe or two in the pit—The Hives are finally bringing their suit-clad chaos back to Australia for the first time in ten long years. The Swedish garage-rock kings will blast their way through four headline shows this July, lighting up venues from Fremantle to Brisbane like it’s 2002 all over again.

Still riding the high from their raucous 2023 comeback record The Death Of Randy Fitzsimmons—their first in over a decade—The Hives are out to prove they’ve still got the goods. And if you’ve ever seen them live (or survived the aftermath), you know they absolutely do.

The tour kicks off at Metropolis Fremantle on July 17, steamrolls through Melbourne’s iconic Forum on July 19, tears up the Enmore Theatre in Sydney on July 23, and ends in a flurry of limbs and tuxedos at Brisbane’s Fortitude Music Hall on July 24.

Formed in the small Swedish town of Fagersta in 1993, The Hives became an international force of nature at the height of the early-2000s garage rock revival—alongside the likes of The Strokes and The White Stripes—but with more volume, more velocity, and way more matching outfits.

With a back catalogue that includes cult classics like Veni Vidi Vicious, Tyrannosaurus Hives, and now The Death Of Randy Fitzsimmons, expect chaos. Expect charisma. Expect Pelle Almqvist to climb on something.

Ten years away is too damn long. Don’t say we didn’t warn you.
