News: Local H share remastered ‘P.J. Soles’ from forthcoming reissue

Chicago pair Local H are celebrating a pair of important anniversaries this year. Not only is it the band’s 30th year in existence (with their most recent record being early-pandemic offering LIFERS), but it’s also 20 years since they released Whatever Happened to P.J. Soles, an album that’s getting a deserved anniversary spotlight in a similar fashion to 2002’s Here Comes the Zoo.

The remastered single edit of the record’s quasi-title track is streaming below, a song which, according to band leader Scott Lucas, is ‘maybe the record’s most obvious ‘coulda-shoulda’ single. Every time I hear it, I am immediately transported to the day I wrote it. And I’m just as proud of it now as I was then.’ No word on new music from Lucas and bandmate Ryan Harding, but in the meantime, the bells-and-whistles reissue of Whatever Happened to P.J. Soles arrives on Friday September 13th via Brutal Panda/G&P.
