Liverpool pop-rockers Honey Motel share the new single ‘Punch Drunk’.
Bringing biting guitar tons and infectious melodies, ‘Punch Drunk’ captures the essence of Honey Motel’s dynamic sound the track brings an anthemic essence comparable to early to early Kings Of Leon. Opening into a ethereal middle 8 the band display more of the psychedelic-indie side of their sound before the track bursts back into it’s explosive chorus.
Reflecting on the track, guitarist and songwriter Sam Meredith shares, “If anybody tells you they know exactly what they are doing in this life, they are lying. Nobody knows the meaning of all this. Not a soul. If they claim they do, then they are deluded. As you get into your twenties, all those who you think have it figured out really don’t, and those who seem really lost aren’t that lost at all. How can you know what you’re doing if you truly don’t know the point of it all? But at the same time, how can you be lost if you don’t know why you’re here? Just relax, some of the most interesting people I’ve met don’t know what they are meant to be doing in this life.”
Honey Motel creates a unique auditory, quirky experience, describing themselves as a ‘free-to-stay motel’ where music is the main attraction. The band, featuring Sam Meredith (vocals), Matt Walker (lead vocals and guitar), Jack Hughes (bass), and Lew Fogg (drums), has cultivated a distinctive sound inspired by a diverse array of musical influences that lands somewhere between indie, rock and alternative-pop.
