News: Jinjer Announce Long-Awaited New Album Duél—And an Australian Tour

Jinjer

Jinjer’s fifth studio album, Duél, lands on 7 February 2025, via Napalm Records, arriving right in time for their highly anticipated Australian tour with Kittie.

The Ukrainian progressive metal outfit has built a name on technical precision and boundary-pushing songwriting. With Duél, Jinjer leans into their signature mix of groove-heavy passages, brutal riffs, and the dynamic power of vocalist Tatiana Shmayluk, whose switch between clean vocals and ferocious growls remains unmatched.

This new era sees Jinjer releasing songs that hit with emotional depth and sonic force. Following the earlier singles ‘Someone’s Daughter’ and ‘Rogue,’ they’ve dropped ‘Kafka,’ a slow-burner that snakes its way into listeners’ nerves, erupting in a fierce finale. As with every chapter, Duél finds the band sharpening their sound while remaining rooted in the progressive ethos that’s won them both critical acclaim and a loyal following.

“Being an artist is sometimes beautiful but most of the time it’s brutal… as our art is dissected word for word and ripped apart note by note, we‘re expected to be on point all-the-time … and when we aren’t, we are scandalized. A true artist is vulnerable but the crowd is most often plagued with vultures who pick at every single move you make. It’s a slippery slope when music means the world to us but how quickly praise turns into prosecution… We are all Kings and Queens for a day but most of the time it feels like a Kafka novel for a lifetime. It‘s exciting but surreal and absurd at the same time …” – Tatiana Shmayluk
