News: Jack Howard Returns With Emotive New Single ‘Falling’

Starting the year strong with ‘Circles,’ Jack Howard has already garnered significant support from BBC Radio 1. As the highly anticipated July release of his debut EP, All Things That Came Before builds, Jack is back with the evocative emotive and beautifully constructed new single ‘Falling.’

Showcasing a feel for infectious pop melodies and rich musical ideas from it’s atmospheric production to it’s wonky beat in the chorus, ‘Falling’ is a radiant example of Jack Howard’s abilities to craft music with depth and commercial appeal. An immersive track that weaves together a haunting choir, cinematic guitars, and an effortless dreaminess into a powerful narrative, the song masterfully balances boldness and vulnerability, building a hypnotic ethereal edge whilst holding emotional depth in abundance.

The production is meticulously crafted, culminating in a crescendo of gospel cries and brooding accompaniment. This track showcases Jack’s transformation from grief to resoluteness, evoking an unshakable emotional journey.

Jack elaborates on the inspiration behind ‘Falling,’ saying, “It’s about cutting someone loose who is dragging you down into the darkness with them. This was one of the last songs I wrote on the EP, and it only took about 20 minutes to create. I was on my guitar and just heard this choir sing ‘FAALIng’ in my head. I based the whole song around that one word, and all these feelings I’d had locked up for so long finally came rushing out.”

Hailing originally from Portsmouth, Jack’s move to London has seen his career rapidly blossom. His soulful vibrance and raw energy have fueled sell-out shows at Prince Albert and Colours Hoxton and earned him festival spots at The Great Escape and Wild Paths.

With the new EP All Things That Came Before on the horizon, Jack is set for an exciting 2024.
