News: ION Drops New EP ‘Like A Sickness’

ION has unveiled Like A Sickness, a new EP that brings together a blend of experimental electronic musicality with elegant melodic, processed vocals whilst thematically diving into themes of spirituality, madness, and occult knowledge.

Known for his genre-blending approach, ION’s work has always walked the line between sound and mysticism, but with Like A Sickness, he invites listeners even further into the esoteric. This EP serves as both a musical journey and a ritual, taking listeners deep into ancient and often forgotten spiritual practices, where notions of sanity and divine understanding are intertwined.

In Like A Sickness, ION leans into an immersive, multidisciplinary experience, merging ritualistic soundscapes with layers of occult symbolism. Each track serves as a portal to a unique spiritual landscape, embracing both the chaos and wisdom of ancient traditions. “This EP is monumental for me,” ION explains. “It represents a shift toward ritualistic, more intimate expressions of the occult. Through these songs, I aim to reawaken the purity of early spiritual devotion.” From the eerie resonance of ‘Mercurii Ritual’ to the hypnotic chants of ‘Homesick’, ION crafts an experience that feels like a descent into sacred rites of passage, exploring ancestral connections that modern society has all but erased.

Each song on the EP tells its own story within this broader spiritual framework. ‘Surface Tension’, with its frenzied rhythms, conveys the suffocating impact of societal expectations on individual sanity, while ‘Lost In Translation’ mourns humanity’s disconnection from ancient spiritual practices.

The EP’s closing track ‘You Hear Her Too?’ portrays contrasting views of witchcraft, exploring the duality of its perception from both within and outside the spiritual community. Through these intricate compositions, ION challenges listeners to question their own assumptions about madness and divinity, offering a chance to see the mystical in what might otherwise be dismissed as the irrational.

Like A Sickness marks a profound evolution for ION, solidifying his role as a creator not just of music but of immersive spirituality, pushing the boundaries of his creativity in a new, strikingly unique and exciting direction. Listen below:
