News: Indira May Shines On New EP ‘Imaginary Problems’

Rising Indie-R&B solo artist Indira May shines on the new 5 track EP Imaginary Problems. Blending elements of jazz, indie, pop and electronic music, The St. Leonard’s artist has been steadily gaining recognition for her unique musicality which brings together pop melodies with inventive musicality.

Produced by Rebecca Le Montais, the track brings together infectiously catchy melodies with soundscapes which, while predominantly electronic, captures an attentive flare of Jazz through its melodic R&B musicality. The EPs highlight ‘STOP’ is a prime example of this, bringing lofi electronic beats under layers of ambient synth, reverb soaked brass, plucky live bass and the smokey, ethereal lead vocals to create a track which is atmospheric and beautiful. Bringing together elements of 90s chillout with jazz and pop, its a prime example of May’s capabilities.

Other tracks like ‘dance tonight’ bring a more danceable, infectious and pointed sound whilst ‘childsplay’ showcases the more straight R&B-pop side of May’s sound.

Indira first turned heads with her collaborative project ‘Disconnected’, created with artist and producer Saffron, which earned praise from BBC Radio 6 DJ Jamz Supernova and established her as an artist to watch. Imaginary Problems builds on this momentum with support across DSPs and tastemaker press.
