News: Indie-Rock Quartet Contemporary Club Share New Single ‘Plastic Dream’

South East London indie-rock four-piece Contemporary Club unveil the dazed atmospheres of their second outing, ‘Plastic Dream’. Brimming with catchy melodies, bouncing riffs, and energetic performances comparable to Fontaines D.C.

The track’s lead vocals are drenched in a melancholy haze, while echoey production lends it an expansive, cinematic quality. This spacious soundscape sets the scene before the first chorus, where a warm bass line, impactful drumming, and delicate guitar arpeggios rise to the forefront.

‘Plastic Dream’ is a masterclass in contrasts—moments of softness punctuated by sparks of ferocity. The wistful, almost gloomy yet rose-tinted performances showcase continuous promise from the quartet. The chords oscillate between joyous and heartbroken, mirroring the protagonist’s emotional turmoil in the struggle of love.

The band explains, “Plastic Dream is another track we wrote and recorded ourselves. It is a valentine-esque indie rock ballad that focuses on tearing at the hearts of two lovers, and wanting to run away with a special someone to escape the world.”
