News: Immi Dash Unveils Spellbinding New Single ‘Hardest To Impress’

Liverpool-based singer-songwriter Immi Dash shines on the dark, atmospheric and affecting ‘Hardest To Impress’.

Bringing together elements of pop, R&B and dark electronics the new single showcases Immi’s radiant ability to blend emotive storytelling with a rich sonic landscape. Offering a hazy, atmospheric production that swirls with distant synths, reverberating vocal samples, driving electronic drums, punching bass and subtle piano, the track creates a rich sonic backdrop for Immi’s silky smooth lead vocals. Both haunting and elegant, her vocal delivery shines with an intimate, emotional depth and sincerity which pulls the track forward as a radiant central focal point.

As comparable to Billy Eilish as it is to contemporary R&B, the single is a radiant addition to Immi’s growing catalogue.

In describing the inspiration behind the single, Immi reveals, “‘Hardest To Impress’ is about the unnecessary pressures we place on ourselves to be perfect. Alba Arias (the producer & co-writer) and I had a heart-to-heart about how we’re constantly looking towards the next thing, without allowing ourselves to be grateful in the moment. This song represents letting go of those pressures and high expectations.”

Immi Dash, originally from Stroud, Gloucestershire, has rapidly made a name for herself in the music world with her signature blend of liquified melodies, smoky harmonies, and atmospheric beats. Her sound has been likened to a homecoming within the R&B genre, a seamless fusion of style and substance that continues to draw in new fans. Since relocating to Liverpool, Immi has graced stages at iconic venues such as the Cavern Club and supported legendary hip-hop group Slum Village during their UK tour at Future Yard. Her talent has also been showcased internationally, including a performance at Rotterdam’s ‘New Skool Rules Festival’.

2023 has been a breakout year for Immi, marked by her inclusion in the long-list for Glastonbury’s Emerging Talent Competition and being named one of Reflector Magazine’s ‘Ones to Watch’. Her rising profile also led to support from BBC Radio 1.
