Italian indie duo Go Hawaii is back, continuing to captivate audiences with their signature blend of dream pop tones and vibrant brit-pop guitar lines on the atmospheric and buoyant new single ‘Days Wasted’.
Bringing a nostalgic glow through warming lo-fi production and tight, beautifully layered jangly guitar lines the track is as comparable to the likes of Cocteau Twins and bdrmm. Up tempo through its punching drums, but melancholic and beautiful through its reverb soaked vocals and intricate guitar work, the single is a great example of the bands capabilities.
“When we wrote this song, we wanted to create a dream pop ballad, inspired by some of the records that came out in the early 2010s,” the band explained. “We aimed for something sweet and dreamy, but we also wanted to give it our personal touch. The bridge is where we decided to shake things up, adding an unexpected twist. It’s how we balance a dreamy vibe with our own unique edge.”
Hailing from the outskirts of Venice, Go Hawaii has been exploring the sonic intersections of post-punk, bedroom, and dream pop since their formation in 2016. With their critically praised debut album, Trespass, in 2022, and a growing catalog of standout singles, the duo has established a reputation for their vibrant shoegaze and dream pop inspired soundscapes.
