News: GINGE Releases Infectious Debut Album ‘Playing Around’

Making a splash in the music scene with her captivating blend of pop-enthused neo-soul, GINGE is gearing up to release her highly anticipated debut album, Playing Around. This vibrant new project will feature 13 tracks, marking a significant milestone in the career of the rising artist who has already caught the attention of global audiences. Having secured editorial slots on Spotify’s Soul In The City and Next Wave Soul, GINGE’s unique sound is turning heads as she cements herself as one of the most exciting talents in contemporary soul.

Playing Around offers a dreamy exploration of youthful joy and romantic whimsy. Infused with shimmering melodies and emotive soundscapes, the album is a collection of silky grooves, deep basslines, and the nostalgic warmth of Rhodes chops. GINGE’s ethereal voice takes center stage, effortlessly weaving together elements of pop, jazz, R&B, and soul. The result is an invigorating fusion that feels fresh, yet timeless, creating earworms that leave listeners craving more.

Reflecting on the album’s creation, GINGE says, “Making this album has really been a playground in itself. It feels like I combined all my previously released music into one poppy neo-soul bubble with some RnB as well. It’s become a playful yet intimate exploration of any type of love and attachment. I used to make it all so heavy, and now I just try to make it a bit lighter, fun, and whimsical.”

This debut comes after the success of her earlier EPs, Belly and Bummer, which helped her garner a loyal following. GINGE has already won over fans with her electrifying live performances at festivals including ESNS, Into The Great Wide Open, and MS Dockville, and she remains a fixture on popular radio stations such as 3FM, Omroep Zwart, and NPO Radio 2.
