Fight Like Apes Announce Return For One Night Only With 3Olympia Show on Friday 24th March 2023

Tickets on sale this Friday, 17th June

Fourteen years since the release of their acclaimed debut album Flight Like Apes and The Mystery of The Golden Medallion, and almost six years since they announced their split as a band, Dublin alternative rock outfit Fight Like Apes are back to headline the 3Olympia theatre on Friday 24th March 2023 to celebrate of the vinyl re-release of their classic debut.

Tickets from €26.90 including booking fee are on sale Friday 17th June at 9am. €1.00 from every ticket sold will be donated to the Irish Youth Foundation.

Released in 2008, ‘Fight Like Apes and The Golden Medallion’ has long been unavailable on vinyl. This will be remedied on Friday 9th September when Rubyworks will release the album on a strictly limited edition (750 numbered worldwide) pressing on 140g red/white splattered wax, newly remastered and freshly cut at Air Studios in London. The gatefold sleeve will also include a bonus 7” EP (also on red/white splattered vinyl) of favourite B-sides.

This show will see the band return to the stage for the first time in eight years to play some of their biggest hits from across their three album and multiple EP discography. Named after a quote from the movie Battle For The Planet of The Apes, Fight Like Apes first formed in 2006, and released their debut project How am I Supposed To Kill You If You Have All The Guns? a year later. This was quickly followed in November of the same year by David Carradine is a Bounty Hunter Whos Robotic Arm Hates Your Crotch.

Three albums and tours with the likes of The Prodigy, The Ting Tings, New Found Glory and Kasabian, the band are delighted to be back to celebrate the record that kickstarted it all.

As well as celebrating the release of their debut, Fight Like Apes will also be donating €1.00 from every ticket sold to the Irish Youth Foundation. One in five children under the age of 18 lives in poverty in Ireland. That’s why the Irish Youth Foundation exists – to ensure that those children get the same opportunities to reach their full potential.

This now includes many young Ukrainian people coming to Ireland. They need our support now. For more information visit https://iyf.ie/.
