News: Emerging Artist Lucy Frost Releases Soul-Stirring New Single ‘To Pieces’

Boston rising singer-songwriter Lucy Frost continues to defy genre limitations with her latest release, ‘To Pieces’.

A captivating intimate and harmonious indie-folk soundscape, the track brings a warming sense of heartfelt melancholy through both its delicate instrumentation and its emotive vocal delivery. Built around lightly strummed guitar and some haunting, reverb soaked swells of whale song link guitar which highlight the track’s depth of emotion. Growing throughout, the tracks subtly and restraint is to be admired before it reaches a climactic final chorus underpinned by minimal electronic drums and layers of beautiful, atmospheric strings.

At its core, To Pieces is a story of vulnerability, an exploration of new love coloured by excitement and the lingering fear of transience. “It’s about loving something to pieces,” Lucy explains. “Rather than focus on language and words, I wanted the song to be about that immediate, raw feeling.”

Produced by Nick Schmidt, the track’s hauntingly rich instrumentation immediately resonated with Lucy. The production, as she describes, was a perfect fit, inspiring lyrics and melodies that unfolded naturally.

Adding another layer to the song’s impact, Lucy collaborated with director Camila Florez for a cinematic music video that visually captures the essence of To Pieces. Inspired by the timeless romance and realism of the 1995 film Before Sunrise, the video tells a story of love found at the wrong time.
