News: Ebony Buckle Returns with Highly Anticipated Album ‘Hearts Get Started’

Ebony Buckle is back, making waves once again with the release of her anticipated new album Hearts Get Started.

The new album follows her critically acclaimed 2021 release Disco Lasers and marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter for Buckle. After teasing fans with a series of singles throughout the summer, this ten-track project sees the London-based, Australian-born artist at her most ambitious and adventurous yet.

Hearts Get Started is a sonic journey that highlights Buckle’s vast, genre-spanning influences. From the haunting and theatrical opening track, ‘Fall Behind’, to gently experimental alt-pop sweller ‘I Think I Just Saved My Own Life’, to piano ballads, moment of folk inspired writing and elegant blues rock riffs the album manages to jump across the varying elements of Buckles sound whilst retaining a central tone and coherence.

Speaking about the new release, Ebony shares, “This album is a collection of songs written over several years, some of them being my oldest. It feels a little like a puzzle, with each song being its own world and story. When you put them together, they are stepping stones along the way of my musical adventure. I like to think of it as a prequel to our first album Disco Lasers – it’s all the music that got me to that point.”

Known for her distinct style and storytelling, Buckle first rose to prominence after her performance in the BBC drama Inspector George Gently, where her rendition of “Silver Dagger” topped the iTunes World Chart. With Hearts Get Started now out, Buckle is set to bring her imaginative pop sound to the live stage once again, kicking off with a special album launch performance at the Camden Club on October 17th.
