Australia’s genre-mutating chaos merchants Tropical Fuck Storm are back, and they’ve got something big, bold, and brilliantly unhinged in store. Their fourth studio album, Fairyland Codex, drops June 20, 2025, marking their first release under Fire Records—and if the lead single ‘Bloodsport’ is anything to go by, it’s set to be a wild ride through dystopian funk, razor-edged rock, and societal freefall.

Tracked with co-producer Michael Beach at their Dodgy Brothers studio in Nagambie, Australia, Fairyland Codex plunges headfirst into the chaos of a fateful landslide, sifting through the wreckage to piece together the grotesque and the glorious in equal measure.

New single ‘Bloodsport’ takes a Talking Heads-style funk detour, riddled with stuttering guitars and pulsing paranoia. It’s a sonic gut punch—equal parts danceable and disorienting—setting the tone for an album that promises to flirt with disaster at every turn.

Since 2016, Gareth Liddiard, Fiona Kitschin, Erica Dunn, and Lauren Hammel have built TFS into one of the most thrillingly unpredictable forces in modern music. From 2018’s ‘A Laughing Death In Meatspace’ to 2019’s ‘Braindrops’ and 2021’s ‘Deep States’, they’ve carved out a space where social anarchy meets snarling guitars, wordplay drips with venom, and live shows explode with riotous energy.

With Fairyland Codex, they’re pushing deeper into the void, teetering between light and dark, beauty and chaos, brilliance and collapse. The vocal push-pull between Liddiard’s venom and the soaring harmonies of Kitschin and Dunn has never felt more urgent, more essential, more terrifyingly alive.
