Irish singer songwriter Dermot Kennedy has announced his second album ‘Sonder’ is out September 23rd
Today, the 29th of June, Dermot Kennedy took to Instagram and Facebook to confirm the release of his highly anticipated second album, ‘Sonder’.
Following the success of his 2019 debut ‘Without Fear’, an album that still regularly finds itself within the top five of the official Irish album charts, the Rathcoole native confirmed he’s excited to “move into this next chapter”.
Confirming the album title at his recent sold-out Malahide Castle concert on the 24th of June, Kennedy explained that the idea of ‘Sonder’ is that “everybody you pass in the street, everybody you ever see, everybody you come into contact with, they’re all living a life as vivid and complex as your own.”
He said that that meaning, and idea resonates with him so much and that we need that now more so than ever before.
Along with this album announcement, came a new song and music video for ‘Dreamer’, a raw tender piano-lead song about the little things in love, and how simple love can be. He explained in a post the song is about “just showing up for someone. No grand gestures, no drama, just being there,” and how that can be the most powerful display of love.
