News: Cris Cap Unveils New EP ‘Unrequited’

Emerging from a year of artistic growth and exploration, German singer-songwriter and producer Cris Cap releases the new EP, Unrequited. Following the success of his debut EP Like A Rose, Cap continues to captivate audiences with his unique blend of jazz, soul, pop, and R&B. This latest collection is a testament to his evolving sound and musical maturity, featuring recent singles and the vibrant title track, Unrequited.

Cris Cap’s Unrequited is an intricate and soulful journey from start to finish, weaving together lush arrangements and heartfelt lyricism. Produced with an array of talented musicians from Germany, the UK, and the USA, the EP spans six tracks featuring five distinctive singers. The title track, a collaboration with Brooklyn’s Anna Teers, stands out with its rhythmic grooves, gospel-infused harmonies, and evocative brass sections. Cap explains, “I am thrilled to finally share my musical work of the past year. Each track tells a story of love and emotional resilience. Working with amazing musicians and singers has been a wonderful experience.”

The title track delves into personal and poignant themes of unrequited love, inspired by Cap’s own experiences. “It delves deeply into my personal experience of falling hopelessly in love with a girl who didn’t return my feelings,” Cap shares. “Her kindness and words lit a fire in me during a difficult time in my life. Despite my efforts to win her over, I realized that my feelings would never be reciprocated. This song captures the essence of that emotional journey.”

Since sharing his music with the world in 2020, Cap has stayed true to his philosophy of simplicity and authenticity. His advice to himself and fellow musicians to “keep it simple” underscores his belief in crafting music that speaks from the heart. Unrequited is a culmination of this philosophy, a testament to his unwavering passion.
