News: Chloey Rose Shares Theatrical, Synth-Pop Sweller ‘Runaway’

Award-winning British alt-pop artist Chloey Rose shares the theatrical and powerfully 80s pop infused new single ‘Runaway’.

Moving away from the downbeat, more organic sound of previous material, ‘Runaway’ brings a fresh faced, upbeat vibrancy to Rose’s sound. Retaining the sense of emotion and melancholy through her vocal delivery but brings a fizzing backdrop of bright synth sounds and electronic drums.

“‘Runaway’ feels very different from my usual style,” Chloey shares. “It’s a pop track that screams fun, quirky, and liberating. As an artist, I’m striving to show more variety musically and push myself to think outside the box.”

Produced in collaboration with Sheffield-based Aron Bicskey, ‘Runaway’ reflects Chloey’s growth as an artist, stepping beyond her signature alt-pop ballads into a realm of self-discovery and empowerment. The single, rooted in her personal experiences, tells the story of breaking free from an unhealthy relationship—capturing both the confusion and ultimate liberation of escaping toxicity. “When I sang the line, ‘What if I’m guilty of everything you’ve been telling me,’ I knew there was something powerful there,” Chloey reflects. “The song channels attitude and strength, and I hope it resonates with anyone who’s faced similar struggles.”

This emotional depth, combined with her theatrical flair, makes Chloey’s music not only a form of entertainment but also a source of healing. “I want ‘Runaway’ to be healing for those who have faced similar challenges, I hope it inspires listeners to feel liberated and empowered to move forward with confidence.”
