On the eve of the release of their much-anticipated new album ‘So This Is Love’, Cash Savage and the Last Drinks have shared the focus single, ‘$600 Short On The Rent’ a song that hits harder in light of the current rental crisis and the surging cost of living. The new album is a commentary on fragile mental health, a fragile economy, the fragility of the environment and our personal relationships, all on the brink of collapse, threatening to crack under pressure
“Depression is a human experience, but having not experienced it before, I had no idea how it infiltrates everything. The rot gets into everything – your relationships, your memories, your self-worth, your capacity to work and create. It’s definitely given me a new level of understanding about mental health and compassion for what people go through.”
Cash Savage
The new single has been released with an accompanying video. The song features a sonic onslaught of crunching guitars that is in stark contrast to the revealing and insightful lyrics.
“It’s a fragile situation / It’s sitting in the sun on a winter’s day / I’m sorry I can’t be more cohesive / Oh this fragile situation snuck up on me”
‘So This Is Love’ LP is Out via Mistletone Record April 28, pre-order HERE.
