Carriageworks is lighting up for Vivid Sydney 2025 with a stacked, genre-hopping program of live music and food, spotlighting top-tier Aussie talent and a few international heavyweights. Running 30 May to 14 June, the iconic Sydney venue on Gadigal land is turning up the volume with a lineup curated by Tom Supple — and yes, the beloved Carriageworks Night Market is back too.
Mall Grab makes a triumphant return on 13 June, taking over Bays 22–24 for his biggest Sydney headline show yet. Celebrating 10 years since his genre-bending rise, he’s bringing his Looking For Trouble crew and a fresh wave of local talent for a night of euphoric chaos, cutting-edge visuals, and high-octane energy. Expect deep cuts, future anthems, and plenty of sweat.
Ngaiire (6 June) delivers a blistering new project PAIA — a genre-defying fusion of electro-pop, jazz and hip hop with a fire-lit core. Created with award-winning director Dino Dimitriadis, this multi-sensory performance channels rage, sex, ceremony, and ancestral power into something you won’t forget.
Skegss (7 June) inject their signature blend of surf and garage rock. The Byron Bay trio bring sunburnt riffs and carefree charm off the back of their new record Pacific Highway Music — think punk attitude in boardshorts.
moktar (14 June), riding high from Boiler Room sets and a Dark Mofo sell-out, drops a thrilling fusion of Arabic percussion and club-ready techno. Teaming up with party legends Astral People, the Egyptian-Australian producer promises a wild dancefloor odyssey celebrating culture and unity through sound.
Pure Space & Butter Sessions (7 June) team up for a double-header of hypnotic electronic. Expect deep techno explorations from underground queen Andy Garvey and mind-bending house and dub from Sleep D — a sonic journey through the emotional edges of the dancefloor.
Echoes of the Block (5–8 June) sees Awesome Black and Sydney’s hip-hop scene take over Track 8 with a four-day First Nations collaboration. It’s a raw, genre-blurring celebration of Blak artistry, with live performances and open studios bringing unfiltered energy and cultural storytelling to life. More details incoming.
On the international front, LA sax titan Kamasi Washington (8 June) returns after headlining the Hollywood Bowl and the Opera House. The jazz powerhouse behind The Epic and Kendrick Lamar’s To Pimp A Butterfly is set to blow the roof off with a typically transcendent set.
Hip-hop royalty Black Star — aka Yasiin Bey and Talib Kweli — reunite on 10 June for a rare show that’s decades in the making. Pioneers of conscious rap, they bring lyrical precision, political fire, and timeless chemistry back to Sydney, following Bey’s sold-out solo shows last year.
And rounding it out, Brooklyn’s shoegaze dream-weavers DIIV (13 June) make their long-awaited Aussie return. Expect hazy guitars, immersive atmosphere, and the kind of blissed-out noise that’ll leave you floating for days.
From First Nations brilliance to dancefloor destruction, Carriageworks is serving one of Vivid’s most exciting lineups yet.
