Sibling duo Caroline and Claude recently released a new single, ‘Slap’ with an accompanying video. The new song was written in Auckland with Josh Fountain (BENEE), mixed by Simon Gooding (Dua Lipa, Pink), and mastered by Leon Zervos (Pink, Rihanna). It is a follow up to their debut EP ‘Nan’s USB’.
“Slap is about the hard-hitting truths. You need to hear them, but boy does it hurt. Slap explores the idea that everything in your life is going downhill, and it’s just one slap after the other… and the words people say to you, whether it’s true or not, HURT!! I guess Miss Lizzo wasn’t lying when she sang ‘truth hurts’…”
Caroline and Claude
The new song comes at just the right time as Australia finds itself in a cold snap – ‘Slap’ is bright and breezy dream pop that is a perfect antidote to the winter blues.
Caroline and Claude are attracting a lot of attention with some in the media predicting that they are going to be next Australian act to break big globally. The duo’s success is reflected by the many plaudits that have come their way including being unearthed feature artists, triple j/UE rotations, international support from BBC Radio 1 (UK) and College Radio (US), editorial placements from NME, The Guardian and DSP playlisting accruing 790k+ streams.
Nice sound.
