Not content with having released one of the best punk rock albums of last year, ‘Blue Hearts’, former Hüsker Dü frontman Bob Mould has announced plans to release the third part of his ‘Distortion’ series of vinyl boxed sets covering his post-Hüsker Dü career between 1989 and 2019.
This set will cover his solo work between 2008 and 2019, with the first two parts having covered 1989 to 1995 and 1996 to 2007 respectively. ‘Distortion: 2008-2019’ compiles highlights from albums like ‘District Line’ (2008) and ‘Sunshine Rock’ (2019) and is accompanied by a bonus disc featuring Mould’s collaborations with artists including the Foo Fighters and Butch Walker. Like previous releases in the series, this one was mastered by Jeff Lipton and Maria Rice. It features liner notes by journalist Keith Cameron, Dinosaur Jr. frontman J Mascis, and Garbage frontwoman Shirley Manson.
The seven-LP boxed set is released via Demon Music Group on April 16th, as are two-LP, two-CD, and four-CD sets compiling highlights from Mould’s ‘Distortion’ series, with the latter featuring a foreword from comedian and actor Fred Armisen.
