If you’re looking for a tune to help you unwind, look no further. Anto Dust’s latest release,’1955’, will whisk you away from the hustle and bustle of daily live, and drop you off in your own private chill out zone.
We introduced you to Anto Dust a few weeks back, just to re-cap, Anto Dust are the five piece band put together by singer/song writer, Anto Cossu, as a vehicle for her love of words and melody. Her song writing and music has received encouragement from the likes of Lee Mavers from The La’s, Carl Barat, Dirty Pretty Things /The Libertines, and Irish folk singer, Fionn Regan. The band have been playing around London on a regular basis, where a recent headline slot at The Sebright Arms sold out with a little helping hand from Blur’s Graham Coxon who used his Twitter account to urge people to attend.
Latest track ‘1955’, like the majority of Anto’s songs, unveils itself to tell a story through the lyrics. ‘1955’ is the year her Dad was born, so no prizes for guessing who the inspiration behind this number is. Falling outside of the classic pop song, ‘1955’ concentrates on creating a sound that Anto describes as “…our dreamiest so far. A song to fall asleep to, but in a good way.” It’s a slightly more mature sound than their previous releases and is testament to a band who are growing and developing. The single is out today (10/02/14), available to hear on the bands Soundcloud page. The video to accompany the single will be with us in a few weeks – so watch this space.
Anto Dust are:
