All eyes are on London based three piece Years & Years. At the start of the year they walked away with the BBC’s sound of 2015 prize. Since then, both music lover and critics alike have been waiting to see if they can live up to the hype. They made a great start when ‘King,’ their first single since taking the title debuted at number one. A few tracks have been made available since then to download and stream, and now the next official single ‘Shine’ is out. It picks up in where the last single left off, in that it’s a cool, credible electronic electro pop song. It’s just as catchy as its predecessor, with the ability to match the huge chart success.
The album seems to have been a long time in the coming, but on July 10th we can finally get our paws on it. It’s called ‘Communion.’ It features all their singles so far, so we have a pretty good idea of what is to be expected. They performed a lot of the new tracks in their set at this year’s Glastonbury festival. Despite the crowd not knowing many of them, the reaction was still huge, and fans are obviously very excited about the release. Me included.
