Sheffield born singer-songwriter Web Sheldon has paid his dues. Now London based, he has spent the last few years playing pubs and smaller venues, both on his own, and in a brief stint with former band Bilame. Last year he put his DJing skills to the test, with a guest-mix for us here at Backseat Mafia. (Take a listen to it here.)
But now he is putting all his efforts into recording and putting his music out there. His debut single ‘Ranch House On A Hill’ is out on the 22nd of January. He takes his influence from so many different types of music, from those big female voices such as Joni Mitchell and Billie Holloway, to more up to date and edgy electronic music, so it’s easy to see where he gets his eclectic sound from.
Unlike so much electronic music of today, the focus is firmly on the lyrics. The new single is a haunting and chilled out slice of electro. It appears to be taking him out of his comfort zone, replacing the guitars, and instead producing a more piano-lead dance track. Check it out below, or get it on Amazon here.
