After the stir their debut album ‘Snapshot’ caused back in 2013, Irish four piece are back with a new album ‘Little Victories’, out later in the year. Currently in the midst of a 30 date ‘Flat Out’ UK tour, the band have announced the first single to be taken from the album, ‘Get into It’ – out on July 24th.
It launches straight into whats best described as a strut, and immediately you can see that the band have moved on from the bluesy Faces-like rock that infused ‘Snapshot’. There’s much more of the grown up rock stars about Get into it, comeplete with (similarly grown up) Arctic Monkeys style chorus, as they purvey this streetwise, slick (indie) rock, complete with rather dapper chorus that sticks with you. Its only when the Harmonica solo showers its blues over things that the Strypes trademark takes real effect.
Now, this could be exciting.
Catch the band in the Autumn as they’ve just announce a fresh new set of tour dates which will see the band take in larger venues across the UK, reaching London’s KOKO on October 2nd. For full tour dates see below.
