Nottingham duo Shelter Point are set to release two new tracks, Glass Into Gold and Pale on December 11th, via Sony RCA sub-label Space+Time Records. Having already gained fans such as Zane Lowe, Huw Stephens and Annie Mac and playing a long list of festivals over the summer (including Tramlines and Bestival) the band are ready to step up and stand out, and with the release also featuring a remix from breakbeat pioneers 4Hero, they’ve every right to be confident.
Glass into Gold is the sort of electronic music that warms you to the core, mixing the organic with the synthetic as shivers of synth contrast with these (albeit inobtrusive) guitar lines, while the bass gently rumbles away underneath. Behind the gently soaring vocal, there’s cut ups from vocal samples and backing vocals, as little melodic motifs push there way forward between the lines and changes.
Frankly, it’s lovely stuff.
