One of the coolest neighbourhoods in the world is currently East Nashville. The combination of rebellion against the mainstream bro-country scene and the presence of so many musicians in one city has led to a scene combining punk rock, alt-country and serious musical chops. And straight out of East Nashville are garage and beat band Ranch Ghost, or as they say “Not Ghost Ranch. Bozo”. Their new album is due on July 1st, but ahead of that, there’s a single “Turfin'”. Surf and garage sounds combines in just over two minutes of rumble and reverb familiar to anyone who has listened to a Nuggets album. “I got in your mind!” being the one of the few recognisable vocals.
If you have two minutes and seven seconds to spare you could do a lot worse than checking this out :
The album is out July 1st on Rough Beast Records
