Track: Paves – Take me while I’m here

London quartet Paves follow last Novembers debut single ‘Til the end of time’, with a new track ‘Take me while I’m here’. Taking at least a little bit from the likes Blossoms but mixing it in with a good dose of good time blues rock, the band do a neat line in lovable ruffian like melodies.

Take me while I’m here is no exception, as it sways and swaggers pretty much right from the off, the guitar laying an impressive repetoire of blues riffs all over the track. Underneath are slivers of organ and soulful backing vocals, as singer Luke Shields voice cracks and aches over the top of it all. As it goes on so it becomes more urgent and layered, till the guitar leads it on (almost) a wig out to finish.
