We’ve long been fans of the scuzzy rock and roll of Immingham’s Ming City Rockers. fusing together elements from Chuck Berry to Link Wray and the MC5 via New York Dolls, the band have attracted a slew of interest from some of the real heavyweights of talent spotting and significant radio play on the BBC and elsewhere.
They’ve announced their most extensive tour yet, following on from dates supporting Palma Violets on their last tour. It’s in support of their new, forthcoming single Twist It, out on April 14th and available on yellow vinyl and download. The song itself is this supercharged, leather clad juggernaut of a tune, covering in these snarling guitars and sneering vocals. It’s drenched in stooges, sweat and attitude, the sort of song you definitely won’t be taking home to meet the parents.
It’s accompanied by a black, slapstick video situated somewhere between hammer horror and Benny Hill. Judge for yourself quite how far either way it shifts.
