Menace Beach are the lovechild of Leeds duo Ryan Needham and Liza Violet, who since their inception have been cruising round town picking up members from other bands to create their eagerly awaited debut album ‘Ratworld’. Current line-up consists of Liza, Ryan and Matt Spalding, Nestor Matthews and Matthew ‘MJ’ Johnson from Hookworms. Together they create some really beautifully dirty, scuzzed out sounds – Sebadoh slamming into Pavement, after just been hit broadside by My Bloody Valentine. As Ryan explains – “We’ve created our own grubby little Ratworld to inhabit. Everything is better when it’s a bit grubby and broken” … and when it’s from Leeds!
‘Ratworld’ the band’s debut LP is due January 19th – Eagerly awaited and, although we are not even there yet, already seen as a contender for one of the top DIY albums of 2015. Pre-order your copy HERE
Oh go on then. If you insist… Here’s another track from the album ‘Fortune Teller’
