Here’s one to watch for 2014. LSA apparently stands for Love Stays Alive, but instead of peddling some kind of all girl delicate folk their name suggests, instead they play, or so it would seem after listening to their track No Good Man, this sort of jagged shoegazey indie rock, which nods towards Britpop at points.
The London band; Will White, Sam Jackson, Jonah Klein and George Wigens only formed in January last year, when Will and Sam rented a flat together wight he intention of writing songs together, and called upon Jonah and George to join them as they built their sound together. The first result of that songwriting was More or Less Equal, which appear online last November, and followed support slots with Childhood, Wolf Alice, Skaters, Fiction and Is Tropical.
Now joined by the aforementioned No Good Man, the band are self releasing the pair as a AA-side vinyl single on 3rd February. The band are streaming No Good Man and right from the off the track brims with enthusiasm and excitement. After the chiming guitars of the opening, there’s moments when they show their teeth, but never really get in the way of this melodic, singalong slice of indie rock.
The band are currently in the middle of some UK dates in support of the release. Catch them while they’re hot.
