Vancouver singer-songwriter Jordan Klassen has spent the last year hard at work, earning increasing amounts of plaudits for his assured songwriting, literate lyrics and this intricate, layered sound that has earned him comparisons to the likes of Broken Bells and Passion Pit.
Taken from his long player Repentance comes a new single, Piano Brother. Opening with this rippling piano, accompanied by sighing guitars, whistles and a liberal dose of glockenspiel, everything suddenly clears for Klassens vocal, all earnest and warm, as he delivers this little slice of tumbling pop music, that sways your expectations but still manages to deliver on good honest melody. Its lovely stuff.
He’s also announced a European tour that passes through the UK at the end of this week, taking in Glasgow, London and Stroud. Details below
